The Leadership of Being: The Courage to Dare

Every authentic transformation starts in one precise place: ourselves. Discover why the leadership of the future is born from Being and from the courage to dare.

Within our Being flows an inexhaustible source of positive energy, which turns into happiness when we have the courage to dare. It is with this conviction that my book “Leadership dell’Essere” was born, and with the same conviction that I now support leaders and organizations on their change journeys.

For years we thought of leadership as a set of technical skills: planning, delegating, measuring. Undoubtedly important skills. But the transformations we are living through (digital, generational, cultural) require something more: they require aware, authentic leaders, able to look within before looking outwards.

The Leadership of Being starts with three simple yet powerful questions: Who am I when I lead? What do I want to leave with the people I lead? What energy do I bring into the rooms I enter? Answering these questions is not an abstract exercise: it is the most concrete way to transform your impact.

In my experience, teams do not follow titles: they follow people. They follow those who show vulnerability without weakness, vision without arrogance, discipline without rigidity. Those who dare to be themselves, even when it is uncomfortable.

The courage to dare does not mean improvising: it means choosing consciously. It means training every day the balance between ambition and listening, results and relationships, strategy and humanity. It is a journey, not a destination.

If you want to start today, try this: before your next meeting, pause for a minute and ask yourself which version of yourself you want to bring into that room. It might be the first step of your Leadership of Being.

Soft Skills and Artificial Intelligence: The Balance That Creates Value

AI automates tasks, but it cannot automate trust. Here is why soft skills are becoming the true competitive advantage in the age of artificial intelligence.

Every conversation about artificial intelligence revolves around the same question: what will machines be able to do instead of us? The right question, however, is a different one: what will remain deeply human?

Generative technologies are reshaping roles, processes and organizations at unprecedented speed. They automate analysis, writing, coding. But there are capabilities no algorithm can replicate: the ability to inspire, to negotiate with empathy, to make ethical decisions in ambiguous contexts, to build trust.

This is where the balance between digital skills and soft skills comes into play. Companies that invest only in technology get more powerful tools but misaligned people. Those that invest only in “humanity” risk falling behind. True competitive advantage comes from integration: aware people using AI as an ally, not a replacement.

Three human skills become critical in this scenario. The first is critical thinking: questioning AI output instead of accepting it. The second is communication: turning technical insights into shared decisions. The third is continuous learning: because today’s skills will expire tomorrow, and curiosity is the only antivirus.

As a PMP® certified project manager and trainer, I see every day how this balance accelerates results: teams using AI to eliminate repetitive work and reinvesting the time in creativity, relationships, strategy.

Artificial intelligence is an amplifier. It amplifies what we already are: if we are aware leaders, it will amplify our best. If we are distracted, it will amplify confusion. Once again, the choice is ours.
